Barbara Edmonds Shines: "Let's Back NZ"

Labour have just released their first official cornerstone policy.

It’s called the “Future Fund” - for New Zealand, by New Zealand.

It’s a policy imbued with differences - it’s an independently governed sovereign fund that is there to back and invest in Aotearoa New Zealand while building wealth. It promotes innovation, helps small and medium businesses to grow, capitalises on ideas and potentials, and keeps Kiwis home by rewarding domestic talent, growth and energy.

Labour’s other signals to date include: Not privatising Kiwibank - which National/ACT have said they will do, reinstating Smoke Free generation which will anger the tobacco industry, banning live exports, restoring the original Dunedin hospital plan, honouring fair pay and repealing the dangerous Regulatory Standards Bill,
